Day 40- Betrayal and Arrest

It's been a long day for Jesus and His disciples.  It began early in the morning with Passover preparations, followed by a meal together as the sun set over the western wall. Then the celebration of the Passover, washing of feet, the betrayal of Judas, and finally teaching by Jesus into the late hours concluding with His High Priestly prayer.  Now Jesus leads the Twelve, less one, to the Mt. of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane to pray.   It's late and the disciples are unable to stay awake to pray with Jesus.  Alone Jesus prays and the weight of what is coming causes Him great anguish and distress.  "Not my will but yours." He cries out.  Coming up the hillside Judas leads a mob of religious Jews and Roman soldiers bearing torches and swords.  "Up, let's be going.  See, my betrayer is here!"
