Day 31- The King Enters Jerusalem

In fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, the crowds outside Jerusalem receive Jesus as a Conquering King entering His capital.  He did not ride in on a majestic warhorse evoking power and praise, or sitting high on a camel laden with riches, but on a borrowed donkey, humbly bringing peace.  The people lay down their cloaks and palm branches before Him and cry out "Blessed is the King Who comes in the name of the Lord!".  The religious leaders are furious.  "Tell them to stop!" Jesus replies to their demands,  "If these become silent, the stones will cry out!".  He receives their praise as He descends the Mount of Olives towards Jerusalem.  He internalizes the moment and one by one surveys the crowds of people before Him and it is too much for Him and He weeps. "If you had only known. You did not recognize the time of your visitation."
